Pours a very dark amber color with an insignificant head. A strong smell of anise with a little sweet caramel note. Taste follows along with a strong taste of black licorice and a spindly clove finish. A really strange beer, not at all what I was expecting from a Belgian themed ale. I am torn on wether to like or this or not, not a fan of licorice so it gets a low score.
