Type: Stout (wheat)
So stout week brings us to one I have been meaning to try for quite a while. this is Indslev Brewery's Sort Hvede, or "Black Wheat". This is a stout beer brewed with all wheat. It is a dark beer and pours with a big over two fingers head that slowly melts into a nice creamy foam on top leaving minimal lacing. The smell is of dark chocolate and mild coffee, with a hint of smoke and sweetness. The taste is where things get really interesting. This beer is made with smoked malts, which I am usually not a fan of, but it works here. The smoke taste is very subtle and works to balance out the sweet licorice roasted malt taste. It is low in carbonation which gives it a nice smooth and creamy mouthfeel. All in all a nice interesting beer I would drink again.
