Ok time to move onto a Christmas wheat beer. This is actually my wife's favorite Christmas beer (she doesn't even like beer much). Pours a very cloudy orang color. The head is weak and dissipates quickly leaving no trace behind. The nose is sweet caramel with fruity notes. The taste is not as "banana" flavored as with a lot of hefes. The sweetness of the wheat really comes through, as well as a little spiciness from cloves that have been added for that Christmas flavor.. There is a distinct fruitiness from the yeast which is pleasant but not that balanced. It has a very light mouthfeel and is slightly watery. It is a nice addition to the normal spiced Christmas type ales. I can see why my wife like Jule Hvede so much. It is sweet and pleasant, but not overpowering in the spice department.
