Pours with next to no head and impenetrable jet black.

Smells of roasted malts, strong coffee and maybe a hint of chocolate. The taste is very malty with a huge flavor of espresso coffee and a bitter anise like aftertaste. This is certainly a heavy stout but amazingly well balanced. One of if not the best imperial stouts I have ever tasted.
